Those born, in the erstwhile territories of "Estado da Índia", i.e., Goa, Damão and Diu, prior to 19/12/1961 can apply to portuguese nationality:

Required Documents:

-Certificate of your birth, issued by Old Portuguese State of India .

-Residence certificate stating where you resided between January 1, 1974 to December 31, 1975 .

-Old documents of  your parents or yours, issued by the Old Portuguese State of India .

-True copy of your I.D.

Generally speaking, all those born in the erstwhile Portuguese territories while they were under Portuguese administration and also their children and grandchildren.

Under Portuguese law, citizens born in the erstwhile Portuguese territories of Goa, Damao and Dui are Portuguese citizens, even if considered Indians by the Indian Republic, because Portuguese laws on nationality accept dual citizenship. They are therefore, European citizens and have the right to a European  Union passport, the world's largest economy.
